Which Thread Is Better?

Hi all,

I found a supplier in Canada that offers these two linen threads, and was wondering which one of these works best. I've never used linen thread, so I'm not sure what to look for.

Scottie Linen Thread Size: 6, 7 cord Sold by the pound

Barbours Linen Thread Size: 6, 7 cord Colours: Black, Brown, White Sold in 50 gm. and 500 gm. spools

I am also interested, have heard that Barbours thread gets knotty and is inconsistent, have not heard of the other listed but where is the supplier in Canada?

These guys seem to have a lot of specialty stuff. It looks like you have to get an account before you get the prices though.

The Irish Barbour's may be different quality than the Barbour's we get that is made in Georgia. Our Barbour's may be different now also since it is owned by Coats and Clarke, I haven't bought any for 8 or 9 years and it was inconsistant.

Same here Barbour's is inconsistent very knotty and has clumps of lint caught in the twist haven't bought it in years haven't come across Scotty before but can't be worse than Barbour's, I would chose Scotty
