Phatdaddy Report post Posted July 30, 2011 Hi everyone, I have been really busy lately, (kids and new job) and even when I get a few mins to sit down to work on some leather, I have been somewhat uninspired or motivated. I don't have "clients" so when i make things it's usually for personal use or a gift. I haven't had any bdays or anything in some time so I haven't been up to much really at all. Anyway, I got to thinking about Christmas and gifts (I know I know)but before we know it , it will be here. I want to make a tamborine case for my mother in law. I was thinking the closest thing I've seen on here would be similar to a rope can. I was looking for some guidance and instruction. I'd like to lace it, give it handles or a strap and tool the front and back face. I'm just not sure of the design stage. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Kevin
Ferg Report post Posted July 30, 2011 Hi Kevin, Our main family business begins Christmas in July and runs through most of the following January. Your idea for the tambourine case sounds interesting. Have you considered stitching around it by hand? Bob Park has some beautiful rope cans. That is where I would look for inspiration. Bob is always generous with information. If he isn't too busy he just might jump in here with some thoughts. ferg Hi everyone, I have been really busy lately, (kids and new job) and even when I get a few mins to sit down to work on some leather, I have been somewhat uninspired or motivated.
