mickt Report post Posted July 31, 2011 I have an old singer 78-3 machine. I have owned it for years but never really knew much about it. I used it in my shop years ago and kept it after selling my other machines. It quit stiching about 5 years ago and it has sat in the garage since then. I just this week replaced it with a consew 226, and plan to get it running again soon. It used to lay down great looking stiches. Anyone know how old is it? I'm thinking about 100 years old.. Thanks Mick
CowboyBob Report post Posted July 31, 2011 Go to Singers website & they have a place to put in the serial # & it'll tell the age. They are great machines & you can still buy parts for them & they are easier to run than 226 style of machine. Bob

Bob Thanks Bob, I'll try thier web site. Going to get this one out of the garage and get it running again. haven't used it in about 5 or 6 years. I'll oil it up and see what parts I need and get back with you. Yes it is an easy machine to use, allmost like just set and sew. LOL Thanks again Mick
