Just beautiful work as always Brian, if you don't mind bro could I get a little info from you? First, what was the width of the lace before you stretched it for braiding? Second, how long was your laces before you started braiding? Third, what was the knot that you tie to secure each end bights & leads ? And what size was the little buckles? Thanks in advance, Russell
KnotHead Report post Posted September 25, 2011 Just beautiful work as always Brian, Thank you for the kind comment. if you don't mind bro could I get a little info from you? First, what was the width of the lace before you stretched it for braiding? You mean when I cut the lace from the hide? If so, then I cut the lace at a 1/4" wide with my aussie strander. Then stretch it, then I bevel(30°) the lace down to the width that I desire, then I split the lace to even it out on the flesh side. Second, how long was your laces before you started braiding? I can't remember how long they were. Third, what was the knot that you tie to secure each end bights & leads ? 7part 6bight base turks head. Then I inserted the pineapple interweave. And what size was the little buckles? Those buckles are a 3/8ths buckle, if I remember right. Thanks in advance,Russell You're welcome. B...

entiendo Report post Posted September 26, 2011 Brian, can you tell what size buckle that is. I've been looking and looking and looking for the type of magnetic clasp I wanted with no luck, the buckle is the next best thing. It might be strange but I just have this thing about glue...I don't want to use it! There are a few places that sell buckles of different sizes AND different colors, which is a good thing, love color. thanks a lot!

KnotHead Report post Posted September 26, 2011 Okay. I have to confess this much. My intention was not to use those buckles. But considering that I ended up with a wider braid than I had intended, I had to improvise on what was there. So, I guess you could say by a mistake in calculations, I found a way for a modified buckle for this bracelet. Thank you all for your kind comments. It is much appreciated. B... entiendo Report post Posted September 30, 2011 Sweet Brian. I really like the clip, compared to other options. I want to try it without the knots on the turn back though, maybe make it longer and put a center knot instead.. I don't know just thinking with my fingers.
