Members $$hobby Posted August 21, 2011 Members Report Posted August 21, 2011 Someone wants me to inlay beadwork in to a belt. So....any suggestions on how to do this? I attached a pic of what I am trying to do!! EXPERIMENT! i was doing the same for a customer that wanted it done to brow bands. Since the brow bands are curved on the horse, but straight when stitched, the beadwork will pucker if bent, then strightened. I tacked down the bead work every few rows/columns to minimize the puckering. i was never able to totally eliminate it. I didnt want to "glue" them down since eventually, the glue would work loose or degrade. if you can have the person try attaching the beads to a backing of sometype. it may make your job easier. Members WinterBear Posted August 22, 2011 Members Report Posted August 22, 2011 It looks like it's a loom woven strip, rather than each bead sewn on? I think the strip is stitched to the bottom layer, and a "window" or side strips overlain or butted alongside the beadwork for the top layer. If you decide you want to loom your own strip, drop me a line and I'll try to help. Quote I used to be an Eagle, a good ol' Eagle too...
