Members silkfatblues Posted February 11, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 11, 2013 sorry no underside pics, I delivered the seat this morning... but nothing special, just folded leather... sometimes I use Cordura to cover the whole surface on the underside (on this type of seats)... my next task is finding some cool paints and dyes for leather... I want to learn how to make those colour tooled images back to drawing board Quote

Yes, we're angry too It's a great job as always!! I'm actually thinking about a camera mounted above my workspace to take random photos here and there so I can actually get shots of ME doing the work, since nobody in my house is willing to work a decent camera for me. I'll do that soon Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 22, 2013 Members Report Posted February 22, 2013 I got the idea when I found out a current customer is taking all of the progress pictures I'm sending her and composing a slide-show for her son who's getting the guitar strap for his birthday (presented at one of their concerts at the Fender Center). Made me really wish I had more photos of me working!! Quote hellhoundkustoms.wordpress.com www.facebook.com/hellhoundkustoms www.etsy.com/shop/HellhoundKustoms
Members shtoink Posted February 24, 2013 Members Report Posted February 24, 2013 I can't help but to be amazed at the flexibility and versatility of your talent. From where I sit, it seems to border on limitless. I am angry at myself for not taking the "before" pic and the whole process... Sorry guys... I totally understand. I find myself into a project and completely forget to take the time to get any photos of the progress. I get into a zone and loose track of everything else, it seems. It's not always a project that's planned either, sometimes it's a repair job that ends up taking a particularly clever solution to fix, but might not ever be seen when finished. I'm actually thinking about a camera mounted above my workspace to take random photos here and there so I can actually get shots of ME doing the work... This might work. Maybe a decent quality webcam that can be set to snap shots at a set interval or something. Mounting it above the the workspace might be good, but it'd probably be better to do multiple angles simultaneously to get some of the details that my fat head would most likely end up being in the way of a good deal of the time. From where I sit, it seems to border on limitless. I think my secret is when someone says "it can't be done" or "that aint gonna work" or "thats not your job" and so, I get angry and my stubborn head keeps going forward :D Thanx!!!! The zone you mentioned is the most important magical thing that keeps me in love in creative interventions sometimes it doesn't happen and I know I'm not giving all I got, either I'm tired or deconcentrated, but when it's there I can work nights and weekends like it's nothing... It's not healthy like that but my advantage is I can take any day off from work and recharge... Taking pics for a timelapse is actualy very simple... For a HD video you need a photo not bigger than 1080 X 1920 pixels... so if you shoot with a camera with more pixels you need to lower your photo quality and some programs do that for you... what I want to say a pro camera is not a must have for a very cool timelapse... you need a tripod and a triger/timer that you can set to any speed you think is ok... you need 25 pics per second, so it is 1500 pics per a minute... and that shows a lot!! I'll do that as soon as I find a cool enough project Cheers, Silk Quote
Members silkfatblues Posted February 26, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 26, 2013 I have made this seat some time ago an I saw the bike just the other day. This is vintage italian moped Radaelli and it seems it was developed in colaboration with Harley Davidson cause a lot of parts have HD markings... I think it's gonna be a beauty Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 26, 2013 Members Report Posted February 26, 2013 It does kind of have an old Aermachhi feel to it, and that definitely looks like a softail oil bag. http://www.theworldofmotorcycles.com/_harley-davidson-m50-scooter-1965.html Quote hellhoundkustoms.wordpress.com www.facebook.com/hellhoundkustoms www.etsy.com/shop/HellhoundKustoms
