Members silkfatblues Posted February 27, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 27, 2013 It does kind of have an old Aermachhi feel to it, and that definitely looks like a softail oil bag. http://www.theworldo...ooter-1965.html thanx for the research I'll take more pics of the parts with HD markings next time, have to borrow the macro lense... Members Cyberthrasher Posted February 27, 2013 Members Report Posted February 27, 2013 A good friend of mine who was teaching me some chopper basics (I'm NOT a mechanic) had one of those old one's show up in his shop, so that's the only reason it looked familiar to me. Good old AMF - had to put the Harley name on EVERYTHING they made. Quote hellhoundkustoms.wordpress.com www.facebook.com/hellhoundkustoms www.etsy.com/shop/HellhoundKustoms
Members silkfatblues Posted March 6, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 6, 2013 This is the second seat I ever made 3 years ago I think and a few pics how I renewed it a little bit... Did some more tooling and painted the scull and lettering, then used some sand paper to add more used feel... Quote

Members Cyberthrasher Posted March 8, 2013 Members Report Posted March 8, 2013 @cyberthrasher I think I'll use it more often, so cool for vintage look... Yeah, I stumbled on it when I was trying to "fix" a bad clear-lac job in the 11th hour of a guitar strap. I figured if it messed it upt, I was already set to start from scratch (which I did). But, I sent the guy the good one and the one I aged with sandpaper and his friends loved the aged one even more. In fact, he contacted me a couple weeks after he got it and told me that I should be offering that as a standard style. Loving the color on that seat!! Members silkfatblues Posted May 1, 2013 Author Members Report Posted May 1, 2013 I rebuilt this one for an old DKW motorcycle... hope to get some bike pics soon... The front part was shaped by hand, no tools or pressing machines, just moistured leather and my hands stretching it... few pics of it drying, from iphone and finished Quote

Members David8386 Posted May 1, 2013 Members Report Posted May 1, 2013 Great seat, what did you use for a background tool on this one? I have noticed it on several projects you have posted but haven't figured it out. Red stitching looks great also. David Quote
