Members glockanator Posted October 20, 2011 Members Report Posted October 20, 2011 Good Evening- I was given a HF indstrial sewing machine a couple of days ago and was wondering if anyone has used one for sewing leather. I will mainly be using it to sew holsters. Thanks Quote
Moderator Art Posted October 20, 2011 Moderator Report Posted October 20, 2011 I know it takes a minimum of 4 hours and a several parts to turn one into a leather sewing machine. I think the HF machine is a Singer 111 clone, figure on putting a reduction drive servo motor on it and some new smooth feet and such, then get the right needles for leather. Honestly, it is not the machine I would buy for holsters or gunbelts, but for lighter stuff, it will be ok, and if not, well it was free.
