Need Couple Of Screws For My Patcher.

Anyone know the machine screw size (thread pitch and thread shaft length) of the screw that locks the revolving head bush handle into place on a singer patcher (so that it's stationary when locked tightened but revolves when loosened)? It sits on the front of the head under the darning tensioner. I'd like to find one if possible in a wingnut design in black... am I dreaming? Also, I need the machine screw that hold the foot lifter handle , it pivots on this screw too I believe (without seeing it in front of me). Thanks for any help.

I know, but at least for the stop screw I wasn't necessarily needing a Singer specific item, with it's extra cost and shipping and turn around time. The lifter bolt I think is a bearing type screw (so lifter can pivot) and a singer specific item may be the only way to go. But the stop screw is more important to me at the moment as the bolt in my lifter pivot is getting the job done at least. Besides I need an excuse to go to Elliott's hardware - do you know the screw dimensions?

My revolving stop screw looks like it might be a 10-28, 10-32, or 3/16x, with a little more than 1/2 inch of threads. See if you can get a couple of screws with these pitches. SAE thread only.

I lost the needle bolt on my Singer 29, and was able to replace it with a bolt from an electrical outlet (the long ones that hold the outlet into the box).

I just chucked the bolt up in a drill and spun it on a grinder until the head diameter and thickness was what I was looking for, used a hacksaw to recut the screwdriver slot, and then the bolt so the head stuck about 1/8" out of the drill chuck, and used a hacksaw blade against the spinning bolt to cut it off at the proper length.

I keep a stack of knackered machines around the place purely as a source of spare parts.For instance, I am going to rebuild a Jones VS machine using a similar part out of a Gritzner that is beyond repair.

I had to laugh when I read this........"Knackered Machines"

My wife calls my "Knackered Machines" that lousy "Junk in the Garage".

I cannot tell you how many times it has saved me for parts of various kinds. And the times I have thrown out "junk" I needed it shortly thereafter.
