King's X Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 It looks good.......if you didn't make mistakes or learn from it......how would you get better. Quote Greetings from Central Texas! The Grain Side Up blog #TheGrainSideUp
Members js5972 Posted December 6, 2011 Members Report Posted December 6, 2011 The bevelling and shading look pretty good for your first project. It is hard to get much definition with thin leather. The knife work, especially the decorative cuts, are somewhat "rigid." Practice figure 8's, S's, ovals, etc to develop your technique and be sure to strop your knife frequently. Members Suicide Posted December 6, 2011 Author Members Report Posted December 6, 2011 Thanks, guys! The knife work, especially the decorative cuts, are somewhat "rigid." Practice figure 8's, S's, ovals, etc to develop your technique and be sure to strop your knife frequently. Yes, I will. It is my main weak currenly. I just ALWAYS very afraid of these final decorative cuts to made as there is seem no much room for mistakes what can ruin the whole the previous work down. Quote My leatherwork gallery
