Members danno37 Posted December 20, 2011 Members Report Posted December 20, 2011 A friend recently showed me a book cover that holds two books and I loved it. While I am new to leather work i figured i better start looking for the pattern now or at least ask for help so I cam make this when the time comes. Any help at all would be most appreciated. Thanks! Northmount Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Go back to see your friend. Examine the cover closely, make some notes and sketch how it appears to be put together. Different book sizes will require alterations to the pattern, so it is best to start with your rough sketch and adapt to fit. Recording a few measurements would be helpful if your friend agrees to it. Then file the info where you can find it later! Then you will have the info when there is a demand (or desire) to make one similar to it. Quote
Members azrider Posted December 21, 2011 Members Report Posted December 21, 2011 The double book covers I have seen have almost been two simple book covers sewn together, so there was a flap in center to catch both books. The edges have flaps sewn in them to hold the actual books, and the whole thing closes and is secured closed with a snap or buckle. Quote
Members danno37 Posted December 21, 2011 Author Members Report Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks to both of you for the replies. I will take a much closer look at this cover next chance I get. Thanks to both of you for the replies. I will take a much closer look at this cover next chance I get. Quote
