Members Riverwash Posted December 25, 2011 Members Report Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) Hey Everyone!! Long time no see from me, I've been busy with my main business and its been nearly a year since I've hammered out a leather project. Some may recognize my avatar from before also as Outsider Leather on FB. This is my 4th piece with doing full color graphics thus far & I've never done this type of wine bottle holder before either. Which is why I found a bit of an error with the design. It doesn't sit flat against the wall with the wine bottle in it DUH!! Still trying to figure a way to correct it as is by adding a back piece using the existing chicago screws on the straps or possibly add a brass eyelet towards the bottom for a nail to hold the back flat or something, oh well, live & learn ;0) Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it overall except some of the little boo boo's here & there on it... Anyhoo' the wine bottle holder is all spirit dyed & antiqued using highlighter... Edited December 25, 2011 by Riverwash Quote
Members moeg Posted December 25, 2011 Members Report Posted December 25, 2011 It looks great, right time of year for it too. Did you hand paint the line that goes around the picture? Moe. Quote
Members Riverwash Posted December 25, 2011 Author Members Report Posted December 25, 2011 Many thanks!! The outline is Fiebings highlighter/antique which I applied it with a paint brush vs covering the entire piece and wiping the excess off... Quote
Members Riverwash Posted December 25, 2011 Author Members Report Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) After putting the size of wine bottle in it that I had specifically designed it for it sits just fine on the wall after all, I'm very pleased with it =) Edited December 26, 2011 by Riverwash Quote
Members Hibbert Posted December 26, 2011 Members Report Posted December 26, 2011 I think it looks fantastic. The different shades on the grapes and leafs really stood out to me. Also really liked the basket weave on the sides Quote
Members Riverwash Posted December 26, 2011 Author Members Report Posted December 26, 2011 (edited) I appreciate the good words on it Hibbert!!~ I thought the tri weave fit the look I was going after vs the traditional basket weave stamp... Edited December 26, 2011 by Riverwash Quote
