Using Ipad As A Lightbox

Does anyone know of an App that allows one to lock an image in place on the iPad? I was thinking, since the glass is so durable, it would make a nice portable light box. I've purchased a few of the Tandy/Leathercraft Library doodle pages. . . since they're digital, this would be pretty useful. Would save me from printing out the image and you could scale it to whatever size you needed pretty easily.

just search for a flashlight app, many are free. The one I have is called myLite.

As I hit submit I realized you just want to trace whats on the screen and not actually use it as a light box to tracing paper over paper to trace something. You can download the file to your ipad and just view it as a picture in the camera roll. You can change the settings on how long the screen will stay lit.

Another useful app is called "Tracing Paper". It puts a grid over a jpeg making it easier to draw from or make a composition. I have it on my iPod as I don't have an iPad but they probably have it for the iPad too.

This is a great question. Earlier tonight I actually tried tracing part of a belt pattern on my iPhone and every time I touched it it would move or resize itself. So annoying. I have an iPad too, and it would make a great light box if you could keep the image still. Even in the photo roll it resizes if you touch in a certain way. I'll keep an eye out for apps and post if I find anything good.

There is an app that does everything you guys want. It's called Kwik Draw and it isn't cheap! Looking at $9.99 for iPad and $4.99 for iPhone.

Looks worth it to me.

Just place a clear piece of acrylic plastic over your phone and set it to not auto sleep. You can get the acrylic at home depot or similar.
