My First Top Hat

Well here is the top hat drying on the head. It was my first hat and I was very happy to finish hand sewing. I still want to glue a bottom piece to the rim and burnish the edges. I was thinking of going with black or maybe mahogany.

This is the first hat I posted now that it has a finish on it. My first attempt at tooling was glued and sewn to the side. This hat will become my "test hat". Now I have to get a liner into this one.

Cool i Definitely want to make a Tophat one of these days i need to find a pattern, im sure there is one floating round the internet somewheres. Good job

wmarshall, Tandy has brought back the hat pack and were offering it on their leathercraft library site for digital download the last I looked. There are also a number of folks who have a scanned pattern floating around. It's hard to find the scanned version on websites, likely due to copywrite. I'm assuming the one directly from Tandy would be of higher quality though, just a guess.
