Anyone Have A Band Knife Splitter In The Sf Bay Area?

Does anyone have a band knife splitter in the San Francisco Bay Area that I can use? I have a piece of shell cordovan that needs to be split down to about 2oz. and my manual splitters just won't cut it going that thin. If you have one that I can run this through, please let me know. I live in Alameda, near Oakland. Thanks.

Andrew It doesn't look like anyone has a splitter for you to use. Have you thought of cutting down to say the min your hand splitter will do then sanding the flesh side to get it even thinner? Not the ideal solutions but it just may work.

Honestly, I really don't trust that I can sand the leather down to sub-2oz levels with any sort of consistency. And even if I could, the flesh side would not be terribly attractive to use I don't think.

The basic probably is that knife splitters really aren't consistent enough to do sub-2oz splitting. And if you have any leather other firm veg tan, it won't like that either.

Oh well.
