Hello.

I've made many holsters over the years but most are open style. My plan is to make a Model 1881 US cavalry Holster. These had plugged toes.

I would like some concrete and specific instructions for how to make one properly. I only do historical leather work so I am not looking for ways to fake this.

I have tried searching here and I keep coming up with suggestions for buying this book or buying that video. Perhaps my searches missed some instructions but I cannot find any ones.

Can anyone explain how to do it?

Thanks in advance!

The other thing you might want to do that was not explained is to cut 2 toe plugs and glue them flesh to flesh. This adds a lot of beefiness to the plug and is a lot easier to work with in my opinion.
