Members PL01 Posted February 21, 2012 Members Report Posted February 21, 2012 That is some serious work. Not just the tooling, but the coloring/gilding/dye job your've done on it. What is the size of that? Quote
Members Stephan Danner Posted February 21, 2012 Members Report Posted February 21, 2012 A fantastic job on this - and again some inspiration I get from this board for future projects. Never thought of a clock till now. Thank you for sharing! Quote

Contributing Member Crystal Posted February 22, 2012 Author Contributing Member Report Posted February 22, 2012 Very Nice Work! Thank you, Johnny! That is some serious work. Not just the tooling, but the coloring/gilding/dye job your've done on it. What is the size of that? Thank you! The diameter to the outside gold border was 14". A fantastic job on this - and again some inspiration I get from this board for future projects. Never thought of a clock till now. Thank you for sharing! Thank you, Stephan. I was stuck on another project a while ago and someone suggested making a clock out of it. Now everything looks like a clock! Very nice with great lettering, that's going to make someone very happy. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the gold colour? Thanks, Andrew. I used Angelus acrylic. I think I either got it from http://peasandcornco.com/shoeandleathercare/angelusacrylicpaint.asp or from http://turtlefeathers.net/text/angelus/paint.html . Quote

I think for those I should have just used dyes. Quote
Members craftsman827 Posted February 22, 2012 Members Report Posted February 22, 2012 SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL !!! I would love to see a photo of the leather, before you dyed it. I love clocks made with leather. There are so many different types that can be done using leather. "LEATHER", what a beautiful medium to work with ! Quote

Members northquabbin Posted May 30, 2012 Members Report Posted May 30, 2012 Outstanding! I'm sure that Marine was speechless. I would have reupped for that. Quote
Chief31794 Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 I'm astounded, beautiful and very detailed and a very accurate depiction of the Eagle, Globe and Anchor (EGA). Just when I thought Sheridan Carving was the only way to make leather truely beautiful, you turn me around. The lettering and coloring is amazing. Ken Quote
