Members corinowalk Posted February 27, 2012 Members Report Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Hello! First time poster here! Long time lurker! I buy, sell and trade tack. I got this saddle as a trade and figured that I would give it a shot. The leather is beautiful, lots of really nice tooling. This thing is MONSTER heavy. Its a 15" seat, looks to be SQHB saddle marked "T M Lumly Maker Cushing OK" Does anyone have any information on this saddle or maker? Thank you in advance for all your help! Love the forum! Moderator bruce johnson Posted February 27, 2012 Moderator Report Posted February 27, 2012 Interesting history here in the "Old COwboy Saddles and Spurs" book. 7th edition. "T.M. Lumley, Cushing, OK 1920-40. He moved to Medicine Lodge, KS & married Bess Read. She did much of the tooling and stamping. TM died in December of 1951. Bess continued the business for many years. She died at age 100, Feb 25, 1994." Its taken me forever to get in all the little tooled areas...I can only imagine how long it took to make it! Here's the saddle in the process of getting a good once over. She was a little thirsty! Members Warren Boles Posted 18 hours ago Members Report Posted 18 hours ago Do you want to sell it? Mr. Lumley rented a building for his shop from my Grandfather, T. L. Lathrop on east Main Street in Cushing, Oklahoma. I owned one of his saddles most of my life. I am now 82 years old I gave my last one to my cousin’s granddaughter because she needed a really good one. Now that they think I am no longer circling the drain, I want another one Quote

I'll tag the member to see if they are still active/alive/connected/interested. @corinowalk long time since you've been around. You have some interest in your saddle from 13 years ago. Quote
