Royal Blue Edge Dye/paint?

Recommended Posts

I recently bought so chrome tan leather in royal blue to make a purse for my wife. I would like to finish the edges but I don't want to turn them. I see that a lot of women's hand bags have an edge paint that matches the color of the leather. Does anyone know where I can find such a thing? What do the handbag manufacturers use? Thanks.

Andrew

I don't use an "edge cote" or special dye designed for edges. I use the dye I would use for the main body of the thing. I've also used permanent markers which works well as long as you dye before you do any other edge method like saddle soap and wax.

Angelus has a few nice spirit dyes that come in blue. Royal blue might be hard to match.

I would practice on some scrap before I did anything on your main project.

You might want to try some acrylic paint either cova or Anglus.the latter has more colors..
