Welker Leather Stamps

Recommended Posts

Greetings from Welker Handmade Leather Stamps!

These stamps are made one at a time in small batches here in New Hampshire USA by eL Welker. You will find the quality on par with the best. Our tool numbering follows the old Craftool number system, minus the letter prefix. All of our stamps are made of 1018 carbon steel. We offer leather stamps that have our 10 coat bluing process, and some without. These stamps are not blued as I chose to leave them in their original state. We offer many stamps that are no longer made by the major distributors. Should you need a custom leather stamp please contact us through our website. All our stamps are 4-1/2" long. We are currently offering free shipping for our leather stamps, so take advantage of this special while it lasts!

This is a new set of Welker Leather Stamps No. 998, No. 999L, No. 999R. The 998, 999 series was discontinued by Craftool, and are sought after by leather workers everywhere. This set of stamps has our 10 coat bluing process. We make these stamps in small quantities, so get them while they're available! Our price: $100.00 for set of three! post-24209-092117000 1334078034_thumb.jp

what exactly are these stamps used for? Maybe an explanation and a stamp on leather would be good. I have no use for what you have shown- but then again I have no idea as to where or how they are used.

Hi Pete,

These stamps are used in leather engraving. I'm attaching some pictures of what designs a particular stamp will make. The first picture is a sample of our Welker No. 999, No. 998 set of three stamps. One stamp makes the design at right, one stamp makes the middle design, and one stamp makes the left design. The next picture is of the Welker No. 227, No. 228 set of two stamps, or as they're called the pear shaders. This stamp is useful for creating floral patterns etc. We also make a Welker No. 237, No. 238 stamp set, which is the same design, but slightly smaller. If you're looking to engrave a certain design on leather, these stamps help in creating and repeating patterns, and will give your design a professional look. If you need more information, please contact us through this forum. We're always happy to answer questions. Happy Leatherworking!

Thanks,

Andy Hopkins
