Members SimonJester753 Posted April 15, 2012 Members Report Posted April 15, 2012 I'm looking for copper, (plated), buckles suitable for dog collars. I have lots of copper conchos. I've even found copper "D" rings, but the buckles I've found are not strong utility buckles, but "fashion" items. I've got nickel plated brass and plain brass. I've seen some harness harware referred to as "Italian Bronze", but the only size buckle was 3/4" and I want 1". Anyone have a source? Quote

Members Kevin Posted April 15, 2012 Members Report Posted April 15, 2012 Try removing the lacquer from a brass buckle and then soak the buckle in oxalic acid, it will bring out the copper in the brass. That or toilet bowl cleaner, I'm not sure which, I haven't done it in a while. Kevin Quote

Members Glendon Posted May 1, 2012 Members Report Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Out of curiosity, I flipped through the OTB catalog and found exactly 3 buckles with antique copper as a finish option. Here are the item numbers, C-1592, C-2010, C-1593. The first one is 1in. The others are larger. Everything else is your standard brass, nickel, silver, and black enamel. Hope this helps.
