Members Dallas Cowboy Posted May 14, 2012 Members Report Posted May 14, 2012 I am going to order my stamps from Berry King tomorrow. But i will also need a swivel knife and maul for stamping and tooling. SO what are some suggestions for each? ALso i noticed that some swivel knife manufacturers offer different barrel sizes and different blades. Obviously mauls come in different sizes as well. Most of my work will be belts, chaps, holsters and book covers. SO what size and brand of maul do you prefer and what size and brand of swivel knife do you like? THanks DC Quote
Moderator bruce johnson Posted May 14, 2012 Moderator Report Posted May 14, 2012 If you want to do one stop shopping, buy the knife and maul from Barry too. For all around use, probably start with a 16 oz maul. For a swivel knife most people probably start off with a 1/2" barrel knife and a 3/8 blade is pretty versatile. Some other choices for readily available knives are Leather Wranglers, Chuck Smith ("Ol Smoothie"), Henley off the top of my head. Other choices for mauls are Wayne Jueschke (my personal favorites) and Bear Man. Quote
