Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted June 1, 2012 Contributing Member Report Posted June 1, 2012 Chris, you beat me to it. The design isn't new, just the application. It looks like it will be good for quite a few people, but I definitely see having to swap knives for different kinds of cuts. It reminds me of some advice I got a long time ago....which I'm sure others have heard as well : "Don't learn the tricks of the trade, learn the trade." Still, a nice innovation, and it's good to see that there are some people looking to expand our craft. Moderator Art Posted June 1, 2012 Moderator Report Posted June 1, 2012 Mike, Sometime, quite a little while ago, I acquired a swivel knife (for leather) that was much the same as the TBoss. This was some time before eBay, possibly BPC, or 1980. It was not like a pen and had a yoke. If I have it, I can't find it, but I also have an ol' Smoothie I can't find either. The TBoss is well manufactured and finished, moreso than the one I got many moons ago. Art Quote For heaven's sakes pilgrim, make yourself a strop!

Moderator Art Posted June 13, 2012 Moderator Report Posted June 13, 2012 I'll bet the folks who bought them for $135 are a little miffed at him too. Art Wow! $110 for Father's Day? Art Good Golly, Art... you feeling ok? I imagine most good folks would realize these things happen and move on with life without feelings of being "miffed?" And if they are a reasonable and positive person who feels they need to, they could just give Tim a call to see if he is willing to honor the Father's day price. If he is great.... if not, oh well. Members juddger Posted June 13, 2012 Members Report Posted June 13, 2012 Wow...I didn't think offering a discount would offend anyone, especially if it was geared around a holiday such as Fathers Day. I buy a lot of items when the go on sale and have bought many things just before it goes on sale or just after and I always thought it was just how things work. I honestly didn't put the sale up just to make people "miffed". In an economy that we are in I thought it would be a nice gesture to maybe save folks a few bucks to get a gift for a loved ones, nothing more. I feel as though a sale is just that, a sale. My cost of building the product has not gone down believe me, so I am just taking a cut off of my margin to pass on a great product. I have inventory that does no good to anyone just sitting so why not? Just my two cents worth. Quote
