Dagaz Report post Posted June 27, 2012 Okay, So I'm going to be doing my first festival soon and I have made a bunch of celtic themed items for this local scottish festival. However, I'm never quite sure what to charge. not a lot of it is custom carved at the moment because I wanted to make a lot of items, and then work on custom pieces while at the festival to show off my skill to people who come by. now the question is, if I post some pictures here would you friendly people be willing to give me advice on a price range for my items? I have stamped notebook covers in a simplified format, I have tankard straps, belts, bracers, and will be possibly making a few sporrans. Most of what I have at the moment is all veg tanned leather, but I will be making some latigo items as well. Cheers, and I hope you guys can help me. WanderingStar Report post Posted June 27, 2012 okay, here are the pictures, I don't know how I got signed in under another name before. LOL ;P Again, these are all in veg tan leather but I will be making more of each in latigo. They are not completely finished, the veg tanned bracers will be custom carved while the latigo bracers will be plain here are a few more. I will also be making barrettes, and key fobs, and small items like that.
wareagle Report post Posted June 27, 2012 the "rule of thumb" I use when unsure of how to price a product is cost X 3 = retail. cost x 2 = wholesale. cost breaks down to: cost of materials + cost of labor + 20% overhead.
