Members cb2015 Posted July 24, 2012 Members Report Posted July 24, 2012 I was able to pick up a Juki 405 with a new motor and its own table for less than $100.00. Can it sew leather? If so how thick? Is there someone in the Atlanta area that could help me learn how to use it? Even if it will not sew leather it was a steal and I will use for general sewing. Thanks. Quote

dirtclod Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Are you sure it's a 405 ? The reason i ask is because when i did a search for a Juki 405 all that came up was a knife that goes on a machine to cut the thread with. Quote

There is a Juki Model#450 a lightweight high speed machine that has a walking foot.If it is this model it might be heavy duty enough for sewing maybe chaps,it doesn't make a very long stitch & will not take any thicker than #69 Nylon thread.
