bluesman1951 Report post Posted August 16, 2012 I am considering purchasing a "Artisan" sewing machine new for 1,800 . This is supposed to be a remake of the original machine with a new name . It does not have a walking foot set up. Supposed to have some new technology thats one step above the walking foot . Motor has no clutch some kind of electric set up making that not necessary . Question here is : What do you think of the machine and its performance ? Bill

TwinOaks Report post Posted August 16, 2012 Perhaps Artisan has the next great thing, and I hope they do, but they have lost some of their great reputation. There have been multiple reports on this site that describe poor or non-existent customer service. I hope that is changing. You owe it to yourself to see it sew leather in the thickness you'll want, without leaving marks. I'm going to go check out their site and see if they have it advertised, then get back to you. ETA: I just looked at their site and I don't see anything new. Could you post a link to the machine you're talking about? I'm kind of wondering if they've reinvented the roller foot......
