Members Uncle Fester Posted August 17, 2012 Members Report Posted August 17, 2012 Got married in this top hat. I made it with 8oz tooling leather. Please, be honest. Quote
dirtclod Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Really can't see anything. Black on black didn't work for your picture and their pretty dark to. More light or a lighter background would help. Quote

Members lynseah Posted November 27, 2012 Members Report Posted November 27, 2012 that's pretty awesome, did you use a pattern for it? Quote
Members Uncle Fester Posted December 17, 2012 Author Members Report Posted December 17, 2012 No pattern, just measured the old noggen and went for it. Quote
Members Hornbag73 Posted March 19, 2013 Members Report Posted March 19, 2013 I haven't attempted a hat yet but that's inspiring Quote
rickybobby Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 I like it! It is very cool! If you like making them there is a market for them. Selling a few may help finance your leather habit hobby. The Ren Faire crowd and some other LARP groups really like top hats and will buy them right off of your head! I have a friend the goes to RF's as "Top Hat" the pirate, and as you might guess he make leather top hats. He keeps a few in his car to show people and shows pictures from his phone and will usually sell all he takes with him and also takes a few orders. His sell for $120 to $140 depending on trim he puts on. Yours look as good as his (maybe a little better! lol!) he is a pirate, they can be a little messy lol!! Quote
