I've used the search engine, but I can't find a post about sharpening a diamond shaped awl blade. Any help on this topic would be appreciated.

There is a video on youtube, just search "sharpening an awl" I didn't think much of it, but it's awl I've seen. It'l get you started.

It is to the point. (Sorry for the bad puns.)

I start out on a stone then may go wet dry sand paper and finish by buffing. Buffing wheel with green compund on a grinder works fine if you don't have a buffer.
