Singer 1531 D300A - Leather Thread Help!

I am using a Singer 1531 D300A to sew some leather pieces. Sadly the NTB Leather Thread I am using keeps getting caught up in the bobbin.

I am not sure if it is a tension issue or how to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might be trying to use to large of thread,this machine is limited to the largest size of #92 or smaller like #69 or #46

Probably 95% of the industrial machines out there were designed for garment sewing and top out at #69 thread.
