Made a pancake holster for a PPK ....15 oz backplate, front is wet molded 10 oz from Springfield, sewn on Adler 105 with 207 bonded nylon...gun fits like a glove....retention is perfect when wearing the holster...

Any ideas what to do better would be welcomed...thanks

Jimbob

I like the overall design, and I'm no expert on building holsters. I do have over 3 decades of totin a gun tho. Based on my expireance, When I try to design a holster I try to keep a few things in mind. 1. Covered trigger, 2. shooting grip in the holster. Cannot tell what the stitches per inch are.

Keep up the good work...

From the old grump, Like DoubleBarP says, the clearance is a bit tight for getting a solid grip if the SHTF, but as to the trigger being exposed, with the PPK it doesn't worry me a bit due to the DA action of the gun itself. If that emblem is what i think it is on the front of the holster, you should know just what the hell you're doing with the gun anyway. As to the construction, it might be considered a bit overbuilt, but I've been accused of that a time or two myself, As to the stitching, I don't know beans about machine stitching - - I hand stitch all of my stuff. Good looking work. Mike

I would pare off the sharp corner on the bottom...the stitches do look a little close, and maybe add a sweat shield to the back side....as to it being over built...i would have to agree..8 oz is plenty thick, you could probably even use 6-7 ounce on a smaller gun like the ppk...these are all just design issues though..the actual leatherwork looks pretty good..if this is your first holster i would say you are well on your way to doing great things...
