radar67 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 What materials are you making the stamps from? Acrylic, metal?
Studio-N Report post Posted December 6, 2012 Hi Radar67, I use derin (acetel) which is a very hard plastic originally made by Dupont. This stuff is quite hard and can be machined. Fortunately, it is laser engravable too. Cheers!
Spinner Report post Posted December 7, 2012 Hi Radar67, I use derin (acetel) which is a very hard plastic originally made by Dupont. This stuff is quite hard and can be machined. Fortunately, it is laser engravable too. Cheers! I have a Made in America stamp from Studio-N and the quality is great. Makes awesome deep impressions if I want it to and the detail is excellent. Funny enough, it just happens to be the right size to fit in the head end of my 21oz. Bearman Maul so I can hammer it or use it in the shop press. I've thumped it dozens of times this way with a 28 oz. maul and not a single issue with cracking or chipping. Cheers, Chris Studio N - check your PMs later today, sending over a custom request in just a bit.
