Members rmr Posted December 10, 2012 Members Report Posted December 10, 2012 I am new to braiding and cutting lace- so I know very little about the topic. Im currently making a saddle for my daughter nad have gotten to the part where I need to lace the back halves of the skirts with kangeroo lace together. What are sources for good quality lace cutters/bevelers?? So far the only 2 I have found are the Lace master and another one made by y-knot. Any recommendations would be appreciated - if these are the two best ones to choose from I would love to hear any input Thanks RMR Quote
Members barbiesdude Posted December 11, 2012 Members Report Posted December 11, 2012 I have a Hansen string cutter. It works well and has a small splitter attached for cheaper that most other cutters. Quote

Members rmr Posted December 11, 2012 Author Members Report Posted December 11, 2012 Hi Barbiesdude I did find a picture of the Hansen cutter I couldnt tell- are the blades replacable razer blades?? Or are they blades that you have to manually sharpen?? Thanks RMR Quote
Members megabit Posted December 11, 2012 Members Report Posted December 11, 2012 The Hansen cutter uses injector blades for the cutting and beveling. The splitter has blade you sharpen that looks kinda like a planner blade. You can find out about ordering one from http://www.hansenstringcutter.com/ Quote
Members 8KCAB Posted December 11, 2012 Members Report Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Gordon Hayes (http://www.ghbitsofsilver.com/) makes the cutter now that you will see in Gail Hought's book. He told me a really great price - not sure if its for all or not. Hansen works ok, but the splitter is a pain because you have to reset the depth each time. Edited December 11, 2012 by 8KCAB Quote
Members 8KCAB Posted December 31, 2012 Members Report Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) I bought one of the aforementioned cutters: It was $250. I have my Lace Master "Vaquero" for sale on eBay if anybody's interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140901620732 Edited December 31, 2012 by 8KCAB Quote
