rusty521 Report post Posted December 16, 2012 Completed this fly rod and matching reel case this week, i used Tandys Professional Waterstain Dark Brown for the trim and Eco-Flo antique Gel Saddle Tan for the main body. i completed the case by sewing it around a 2 nch diameter aluminum tube. I did not have a pattern to build the reel case so i tried to match the rod case as best as i could.

David8386 Report post Posted December 17, 2012 Looks good, I think you did a good job designing the reel case. Like the closure also a lot of people would have just put a snap on it. I think a darker thread would have blended in with your colors better but that just me. Over all a very good job thanks for posting it. David
tylerbrinks Report post Posted January 4, 2013 What thickness of leather did you use for each item? I'm thinking of doing a very similar project - tube and reel case - and I'm not sure what thickness or type of leather to use. Thanks for the input, and nice work!
