thekid77 Report post Posted December 23, 2012 hey friends, I am having a hard time stabbing the awl through mitered corners (after cementing)... I have a feeling that the glue might be making it difficult for the awl to get through, but I'm not certain since the awl normally goes through leather fairly easily... any thoughts or suggestions is appreciated )) Thanks!!! ACarver Report post Posted December 23, 2012 when I did miter joint I stab my awl into beeswax first, it helps reduce the friction... also make sure you have sharp awl. here is a picture of miter joint
Tree Reaper Report post Posted December 23, 2012 When making bottle holders I pre punched the bottom of the holder on the bench and then I only had one layer to go through on assembly. A sharp awl is a must.
