Shiloh Report post Posted January 12, 2013 Just a little something I did on a lazy Saturday afternoon. It's my 3rd project and I'm pretty happy with it considering even though the finger holes are a little off center. I put a Texas star concho on there and it just made it more evident...oh well, the next one will be better. I just want to give credit to Ian Atkinson from Leodis Leather for his great Youtube tutorial.
Tree Reaper Report post Posted January 12, 2013 It looks good, the hole isn't that noticeable in the picture. Will that concho scratch your Blackberry?
bluesman1951 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 I agree with you ,the next will be better . A finished product is the result of a long string of small perfect events that give the final result. At each point we must weigh the risk versus the reward . When using a edge groover it always mirrors the edge it followed if its not perfect then neither is our groove . This is risk verus reward situation . I dont understand the concho it will hang up on the pocket going in and out. Next the chicago screw on the inside creates a damage the screen issue . Then there is the side to side issue it cant be off by more than 1/16 " and yet it makes a big difference . Risk verus /reward issue once again . This project has value in its teaching experience and for that I applaud your efforts and for sharing it . I am going to make some of these cases at some point and I have learned from your project . THANKS !!!! At every stage of a project you risk all the small perfect steps with the next one . I have been there and made those mistakes so dont feel alone there . Learn and resolve not to repeat the error and start the next project are all we can do . Good Luck with your next one !!!!! Warm Regards Bill
Shiloh Report post Posted January 12, 2013 Luckily the concho doesn't rub at the moment. The sides hold pretty snug and allow a little play for the front and back. Good thing the case is for my company phone LOL. The concho was an afterthought since I had some that I had bought a while ago and never tried applying but now that I have had time to analyze my mistakes I definitely would put some sort of thin pigskin lining on the inside wherever I apply conchos. To be honest I liked the case without the concho just as much. Thanks for the kind words.
