Members artycpt Posted January 28, 2013 Members Report Posted January 28, 2013 I have a project that was completed that I would like to add more design to. The only problem is that the leather has already been finished (with resolene). Is it possible to add stamping/tooling without stripping it or will it need to be stripped of finish first? Or will it not work no matter? Quote http://www.facebook....nakebiteLeather http://www.etsy.com/shop/snakebiteleather
Northmount Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 I had to do a little fix on an item that was already finished. I dampened the leather from the back and left it sit for a while until I could see moisture showing through, left it dry for a while, then stamped it. Worked a lot better than I thought it would. Take your time, don't saturate the leather. Tom Quote
Members artycpt Posted January 29, 2013 Author Members Report Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks. I will try that. I am going to try it on a part of the project that won't really show first so we will see how that goes and it all is good I will see what I can do with the rest of it. didn't think about casing from the back.
