I've not been using this forum for long but don't let that stop you from being brutal !

This is the first belt I have made with a bit of guidance from a friend. It's 4mm Italian bridle in hazel ! I am quite pleased but there's always something that can be done better.

I like the stitched belt keeper. I hate using snaps....thanks for the idea!

Looks awesome!!

The only minor thing is I find the stitch that overlaps the edge distracting from the clean lines of the belt

Minor preference

Jrharres I think it's stronger stitching the keeper although i can give you no evidence to prove it and looks much better, kind of more organic.

Wscott the overstitch on the edge gives more strength on top of the two double stitches at each end to hopefully ensure the belt will last a lifetime.

The stitching should look better in a few days when the stitch holes have tightened up a bit.

Thanks for the comments :-)

I forgot to mention your edging looks very professional...nice smooth, clean edges

Oh, and good dimension on the keeper...it is easy to get it too fat or too skinny so it can look weird

Contemporary yet traditional, a fine piece of craftsmanship, one to look out for I think.
