Better quality buttons/snaps

Hey all I am looking for some better quality buttons or snaps. I have some of the snaps from tandy that have the gold star in the middle. I like the design and all but after about two weeks or so the gold has rubbed off the gold star. Not severe use either. Just from being in my pocket. I dont mind fo myself but if I end up making something for someone as a gift or whatever I dont want to rubbing off after a week or so.

There was a conversation not to long ago about this in the Suppliers section I think it was and someone suggested: www.timcocorporation.com and http://www.hidehousesouth.com/

I have yet to deal with either company though, but the person who suggested them said they were good.

Just thinking out loud, may last a little longer with 2 or 3 coats of vanish?
