Members Peter T Posted February 26, 2013 Members Report Posted February 26, 2013 I know the lost in time thing. I can never really accurately answer that question when I'm asked how long it takes to makes some of the whips I make. I have started a few times to keep track of the hours but get so lost in time I forget to write it down! But that's one of the beauties of whipmaking for me. I appreciate and respect your work and craftsmanship, Bernie. Pete Quote

All to true. Lucky there are still some people out there who can recognize quality and are willing to pay for it otherwise we would all be on welfare. Dangerous Beans Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 A truly beautiful piece of work Bernie, the evenness of the pattern is amazing. I am a huge admirer of your work. Nigel Quote The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources. www.armitageleather.com
Members Bantoro Posted November 20, 2024 Members Report Posted November 20, 2024 It sounds like a fascinating and intricate project! Crafting a 32-plait bullwhip with such a specific color pattern (yellow, red, yellow, black, mimicking a coral snake) must have been quite a challenge. The key difficulty was definitely ensuring that the color strips formed a consistent and neat pattern around the whip, rather than getting mixed up or out of place. It's impressive that you were able to figure out how to make it work and execute the design so precisely. The freedom you had with the handle design must have been a fun aspect of the project, allowing you to put your personal touch on the whip. Quote
