Members jk215 Posted March 1, 2013 Members Report Posted March 1, 2013 I dont normally make belts but I agreed to make some for a few friends and running into a problem. Know matter how well I think I mark my belt slot I ALWAYS notice I am slightly crooked AFTER punching my slot with oblong punch. I am getting very frustrated and just wondering how you guys make sure these things are centered on the belt?? Quote http://shop.makesupply-leather.com - Custom and Stocked Acrylic Templates
Tree Reaper Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Make a jig. Take a wide piece of leather and punch your hole through that, get this one straight. Glue two guide rails on the bottom the width of your belt. Mark where you want the holes on your belt, slide the jig to each location and put the punch in the hole and punch through the belt. Quote
