Members spurdude101 Posted March 6, 2013 Members Report Posted March 6, 2013 I have been using Fiebings resolene finish on saddles after cleaning. I use a damp sponge, but it is streaking. any tips on how to apply it without the streaks? Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted March 6, 2013 Members Report Posted March 6, 2013 thin it 50/50 with water. It's too thick to get a clean application straight from the bottle. If you thin it and use a moist sponge (no dripping water at all when you squeeze), you'll be able to apply clean coats. And remember, it's always better to do multiple light coats than it is to do one heavy coat. Quote
Members spurdude101 Posted March 6, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 6, 2013 thanks, I did not know to thin it. I'll give it a try. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted March 6, 2013 Members Report Posted March 6, 2013 Yeah, they really should put that on the bottle. Quote
King's X Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 I lightly wet my leather before applying the resolene. Does basically the same thing. Quote
