Members Plano Leatherworks Posted March 8, 2013 Members Report Posted March 8, 2013 I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to apply clear lac. I don't have an airbrush or spray gun so I guess I will have to brush or rub it on. Quote
Tree Reaper Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 You can wipe it on but it will take the finish off so a few light quick passes letting it dry between passes works . Take one swipe and let it dry, repeat. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted March 8, 2013 Members Report Posted March 8, 2013 I had a really hard time when I was using it straight from the can. I'd suggest thinning it as well to allow yourself some time to work it. I haven't done this yet myself though since I started using Resolene for everything. Members mikesmith648 Posted March 8, 2013 Members Report Posted March 8, 2013 I just trim some wool scrap down to 3/8' nap or shorter and just wipe it on......start with a very light coat and allow to dry for 20-30 min and then apply a heavier second coat. I have been using neat lac and now clear lac for around 40 years without a problem this way Quote Emergency Room Nurse by profession.......Leatherworker at heart!! Hoping to reverse the order in that one of these days!!
