Recently Purchased Cast Iron Tippmann Boss

Recommended Posts

I purchased a cast iron Tippmann Boss a few weeks ago. I think I have read every post about the machine on this forum and most are on the negative side, especially for those that just purchased them. I wanted to post some positive comments about mine. I did have some issues the first night I brought it home, but wasn't upset at all. I figured I would have Tippmann go through it if I couldn't figure it out. The machine had not been used for about 4 years and you could tell by looking at it. The next morning I bought some good sewing machine oil and partially disassembled it and lubed it and cleaned it all up. I set the tension like Tippmann's video showed and it worked like a brand new machine with the exception of my occasional short strokes. I have completed several pieces with it and it has performed flawlessly.

I hope no one takes this as rubbing salt in the wound, I just wanted to report some positive comments about the machine. I also attribute accelerating my learning curve on the machine to all the helpful comments from the forum members advise to those that have had problems. This has been a great forum and I have benefitted from it greatly.

Ive had a Tipmann Boss for over 10 years now as my main machine. Just recently bought an electric but the Boss will always stay in my shop. Learn to use it and it will treat you well.
