Seat question

Recommended Posts

I was asked to make a seat today and to modify it to keep the lady from sliding back as she does in the seat now. Can one of the wonderful seat builders

tell me what I would have to do to make this work?

Thanks,

Susan

really depends on the seat.

post a pic and i'm sure we can help you out.

i wonder if she slides back because she is shorter and not sitting in the seat or it's just not shaped right and she is sliding off the back??

All I know so far is that it is a LePera silhouette seat. Her handlebars have recently been changed and now she is having trouble sliding back in the seat. I have only made solo seats and I really don't want to turn the work down, but I don't know where to start or how to make it fit her. Maybe I'm in over my head....

that looks alot like much of what i have been covering these days.

sounds like she is having to reach for the new bars and is sitting forward on the seat.

you will need to add some push to move the seating position forward some.

generally 2 to 4" is what is needed

these two seats started out the same.

as you can see one has some push added to it. somewhere around 3.5"

That was very well documented Roger. I was trying to think of how to say it. A picture is worth a thousand words.

She is supposed to send me a picture of the actual seat tonight and some dimensions. Thanks for sending the pics and helping with this, I will probably have

more questions tonight.
