GoodBlues Report post Posted August 29, 2008 Hi all, I'm returning to leather goods after 40 years !!! I used to make unlined, basic hippy bags. Now I'm trying for more refined, beautifully lined bags. I hope. I sew ALOT with fabric, so this is hugely interesting and fun for me to try to incorporate fabric, stabilizers, and leather. I'm including some of my recent efforts. The parts that are difficult for me to learn are how to do things like stuffed handles with professional (not the "made with loving hands") look. All suggestions are very welcome. I'm very much enjoying and profiting from everybody's posts. Thanks!

TwinOaks Report post Posted August 29, 2008 Since you work primarily with bags and the like, you might want to check out some of the posts by member 'Snaps'. He's developed an adjustable snap closure, and it's pretty cool. I don't know if his company is in full production yet, but it definitely deserves to checked out. And in case he reads this....no, I haven't finished up that clutch purse I was working on.... so much leather, so little time...
TomSwede Report post Posted August 31, 2008 Hello and welcome to the board! I think the stuff you mention, liners and stabilizers is a subject often discussed in threads but it seems to me that we lack a little about how to do it and such so if you need info don't be shy to ask for help. There are people here in the know how and it might just be a little delay sometimes for certain questions. Just bump the thread if so by posting a new message with the text *bump* or or to make it come up in the "view new posts" function at the topright toolbar on all pages. Pics and how to do's in this field is probably something we could use more of here. I don't recall seeing too many tutorials on sewing liners or putting in stabilizers so more info on that is highly appreciated! Tom
