longtooth Report post Posted April 3, 2013 Made this for a S/W MP40. Almost finished. Needs some dye work and edge paint. Opinions appreciated.
renegadelizard Report post Posted April 3, 2013 Looks pretty good....i might move the stitch line on the reinforcement overlay a little closer th the edge...i like mine right at 3/16 or a little under....good material choice, ostrich rocks...
mmn Report post Posted April 3, 2013 Curious why you made the reinforcement so long - almost the length of the barrel. Also, would like to see the back. (So I can copy it! lol). Regards Michael

Colt Hammerless Report post Posted April 3, 2013 Longtooth, it looks like you dyed the edges of the ostrich/reinforcement black. What did you use on it? Did you have any problems with it bleeding further into the ostrich? Paul
mikesmith648 Report post Posted April 3, 2013 I would suggest dying before sewing to preserve the thread color.........JMHO
longtooth Report post Posted April 3, 2013 I used military black from Angelus dye company. On the thread color I wanted the thread to be close to the color of the body of the holster. I don't like white thread. I feel it takes away from the overall look of the holster.
