olds cool Report post Posted April 23, 2013 Hey those are pretty slick (pun intended) Don't think I've ever come across those in a hardware store. What section did you find them in?
LederRudi Report post Posted April 23, 2013 I found them in the wood section together with dowels, globular furniture legs and the like. Another store might might be structured different or might not have such wheels in stock, and I'm speaking of Austrian hardware stores. But as far as my experience goes, American ones aren't any different from ours.
olds cool Report post Posted April 24, 2013 Guess I never spend much time in that section of the stores. I'll take a look next time I'm in there or maybe check a craft/hobby store. They look sort of like the wheels you'd put on a wooden train toy
LederRudi Report post Posted April 24, 2013 train toy ... that's a good guess! Through one of the discussions here on leatherworker.net I found http://www.leatherburnishers.com/Home_Page.html which also might be of interest for you.
olds cool Report post Posted April 24, 2013 Those sure are beautiful but I think it will be a while before I pick up something like that. I've gotten by for quite a while with using denim scraps and one of those plastic wheels you can get from Tandy, SPL, or any other leather retailer. I like your idea because it was dirt cheap and I'm sort of a DIY type of guy. DIY is what got me into leather in the first place.
