needles Report post Posted May 9, 2013 without getting up close to the leather i can't tell, but are you sure it is actually leather, and not vinyl. a lot of cars have leather on the main sitting area (hardwearing) and something else on the sides etc, vinyl, split leather etc. i have seen many seats spliting like that on vinyl
Tree Reaper Report post Posted May 10, 2013 That material is breaking down, you didn't do that. The only way to fix it is to replace it or cover it with a seat cover.
DStar Report post Posted May 11, 2013 Hello, It should be leather (it says in car catalogue), but maybe it is low quality leather. I was thinking now that maybe car wash firm damage this seat (just 2 days before i order chemical cleaning of the car) but maybe it is just coincidence. So there is no way (maybe with some special glue) to restore or just maybe glue that it will not tear further ...?
Tree Reaper Report post Posted May 11, 2013 I'm afraid it's terminal. Where ever you made a repair if it was even possible, it would still deteriorate outside the repair. The material is done and will only get worse with time regardless if it's leather or vinyl.
