brigidko Report post Posted May 17, 2013 Hello, I have been reading a lot on the forums about sewing machines, and there is a lot of information! I sew leather and rubber, specifically inner tubes - you can check out my work here: http://www.brigidko.tumblr.com So far I have established that I think I should be looking for a walking foot sewing machine with a compound triple feed. I tried out a friend's Tachsew T11-155 and it worked well, but I see on here that the consensus is that Tachsew's may be kind of a junkie machines in the long run. I'd love any feedback or suggestions. I'm ready to buy a machine this week!
Gump Report post Posted May 17, 2013 brigidko; If that tachsew will do the job, then you should look for a singer 111/211 -155, they sell for $ 300 and up and are what the tachsew were cloned off.Might as well have the original as all parts are readily available and relatively cheap. Also these are some of the toughest machines ever made and many are in service after 50 years. Gump.
brigidko Report post Posted May 18, 2013 Thank you for your sugestion, Gump! That price seems great, I'll have to take a look at that machine. My research has lead me to the Techsew 106...I'm impressed, and it seems to have a lot of what I'd like...especially the servo motor. But, that Techsew is alot pricier than what I had in mind to spend. Anyone have an other thoughts or suggestions? They are very greatly appreciated!
