Members Hillbilly tim Posted May 21, 2013 Members Report Posted May 21, 2013 Hello all, I've been searching for information on a juki machine I have found locally. Its a DU 141. It looks nice and clean but that could be decieving. Could someone inform me of the specs of use, and trouble spots to look for in this type of used machine. What are its limits and capabilities? I've looked but, have not been able to find anything. Thanks, Bro Tim Quote
Moderator Art Posted May 23, 2013 Moderator Report Posted May 23, 2013 This is a lightweight industrial, capable of 3/8" max, but I would have a hard time calling it a leather mchine. Thread 33 to 92 and no more. I think it uses a DBx1 neeedle which is available in leather point. Walking foot, no needle feed. Good for garment grades of leather 2 to 3 layers of 3-4oz, but with no needle feed you have to be aware of creep between layers. When leatherworking, it would be easy to abuse this machine. Art Quote
